Wisconsin Cheese Makers Association issues call for Judges for the 2011United States Championship Cheese ContestMadison, Wis. – Expert cheese judges are invited to express an interest in evaluating entries in the 2011 United States Championship Cheese Contest, set for March 8 - 10, 2011 in the Atrium of Lambeau Field, Green Bay, Wisconsin. Judges will have the opportunity to examine and score cheeses and butters from the more than 1,500 entries expected in the contest. “The 2011 United States Championship Cheese contest will include over 80 cheese classes to accommodate the expanded variety of cheeses entered in the Contest. As a result of this growth, we have added to the number of judges that we will need to evaluate the cheeses,” said John Umhoefer, Executive Director, Wisconsin Cheese Makers Association (WCMA), which organizes the event. Complete contest information will be available mid-October on the Contest website at www.uschampioncheese.org. In addition, entry information for the contest will be mailed to the dairy industry in late October.
